LeAnn Rimes Shoots Down Engagement Rumors

LeAnn Rimes has claimed that a report suggesting she is engaged to Eddie Cibrian, is false.

On Thursday, E! News quoted a source who claimed to the website that LeAnn was engaged to Eddie, her co-star from the Lifetime movie “Northern Lights.”

“Ok, I’ve about had it with the lack of ‘reporting’ with E News,” LeAnn Tweeted on Friday. “The fact that our ‘engagement’ has spread so furiously over the past 24 hours off of an E News article that is 150% untrue just shows you the lack of credible ‘sources’ they seem to find and build a story around. When CNN is calling my publicist off of a lie E News has reported, the media world seriously has a problem with their lack of responsibility to the public to actually report the truth.”

LeAnn went on to blast particular reporters at E! for reporting news she claimed was false, and even suggested the journalists “should be investigated for their lack of ‘investigative reporting.’”

The singer and actress went on to Tweet that she and Eddie would share engagement news when they are ready.

“Eddie and I are beyond happy and in love and look forward to one day sharing such private news with you all and hopefully will be able to enjoy it privately and share it with our family and friend’s before the world knows (contrary to reports on our intentions),” she wrote.

“THIS hasn’t torn me up at all, just dumb. I couldn’t let me fans believe lies. When it happens we will let you know,” she added.

Meanwhile, E! stood by its reporting and quoted a source close to the couple who said that the pair are “pissed” that the engagement news was leaked.

The source told E! the couple were mad as they planned to “cash in,” E! wrote, by giving the news and photos to another outlet.
