Leonardo DiCaprio: Marriage & Fatherhood Is ‘Absolutely Gonna Happen’

Leonardo DiCaprio says he can see himself settling down in the future – eventually.

“Someday that’s absolutely gonna happen,” Leonardo recently told Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos at the “Inception” junket when asked about the possibility of getting married and starting a family. “And I look forward to it.”

The 35-year-old actor also talked about having children with Swiss newspaper Le Matin, saying, “Do I want to be a father? Yes, but I think I have a few more years.”

The “Inception” star, who plays a father to two young children in the new Christopher Nolan movie, believes his lack of children off-screen does not affect the roles he takes on.

“That said, I don’t think I need to have children to play a father in the movies. This feeling is in me, I understand it completely,” he told the paper. “In my private life, I still have time to become a dad, and I’ve no desire to rush.”

Adding, “I like that I’ve reached an age where I can play more mature responsible characters, and that includes the father of a family.”

When asked about why he prefers to keep his private life – mainly his relationship with Bar Refaeli – out of the press, the actor explained that he’s trying to emulate some of his big screen idols.

“I want to be an actor just like my role models. Robert De Niro, for example,” Leo said. “Being discreet in his private life has allowed him to be even more credible in different roles on the big screen.”

“Inception” hits theaters today.
