Leukemia Patient Befriended By Rihanna, Kelly Rowland, Dies In New York

6-year-old Jasmina Anema’s life was cut short on Wednesday.

The young girl who won the hearts of stars such as Rihanna, Kelly Rowland and Lakers star Lamar Odom and served as the face of DKMS Americas’ “One for Jasmina” charity campaign died late Wednesday, after losing her fight against leukemia.

“I’m very sad to hear that my little friend, Jasmina, lost her battle with leukemia. My prayers are with her family,” Lamar wrote on his Twitter page on Thursday.

The sad news comes months after Jasmina received a bone marrow transplant after a national search for a donor. She would have turned 7 in March.

Prospective donors can learn how to help others by visiting DKMSAmericas.org or OneForJasmina.com.
