Liam Hemsworth Gets Teddy Roosevelt Quote Tattoo To Match Miley Cyrus

The couple inspired by Theodore Roosevelt together stays together?

Liam Hemsworth has taken a page out of fiancee Miley Cyrus’ tattoo playbook and, like his 19-year-old love, has inked a passage from a famed speech by former President Roosevelt onto his left arm.

The “Expendables 2“ actor, 22, shared a photo on Instagram showing Miley’s tattoo which reads, “So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat,” directly above a photo of his new ink, reading, “If he fails, at least fails while daring greatly.” (Unfortunately, Liam’s new ink seems to be missing a word, “he,” when compared to the original passage.)

The lovebirds’ tats are stamped in a nearly identical font and are pulled from the 26th President’s legendary speech to a French audience over a century ago.

“It is not the critic who counts: not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done better,” the President told the crowd in Sojourn, France in 1910.

“The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and comes up short again and again, because there is no effort without error or shortcoming, but who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself for a worthy cause; who, at the best, knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat,” the speech continues.

The young couple — who met on the set of “The Last Song” in 2009 — became engaged on May 31, when Liam proposed with 3.5 carat Neil Diamond sparkler.
