Lifetime’s ‘William & Kate’ Actress Reveals Connection To Real Kate Middleton

Camilla Ludington is playing Kate Middleton in Lifetime’s new television movie premiering tonight, “William and Kate,” and it turns out the actress has a connection to the soon-to-be-royal.

“I was born and raised in the same place,” Camilla told Access Hollywood Live’s Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Monday of Buckleberry, England. “My family is still in England and my uncle does know the Middletons.”

Camilla revealed that she actually asked her uncle to pass a message on to Kate’s family – that she was playing her in the TV film, but she hasn’t heard word back from Prince William’s fiancée.

“I think she might be busy,” Camilla laughed as Kate’s wedding at Westminster Abbey to the future king is next Friday.

Camilla portrays Kate from the age of 19-29 across the film, and the actress said capturing the change in the Brit over the years was one of the toughest challenges.

“Just her going from a tomboy to moving and being more elegant, that’s something we worked on with a movement coach… before I started filming,” she said.

As for Nico Evers-Swindell, the New Zealander who plays William, he had to work on his left hand movements.

“I’m a righty and he’s a southpaw, so that was tricky,” he said.

Nico also had to have a hair renovation.

“They gave me beautiful TV hair. Gave a lot of air in that hair,” he laughed.

“William & Kate” premieres Monday night at 9 PM ET/PT on Lifetime.
