Lindsay Lohan: ‘I Know What It’s Like To Be An Out-Of-Work Actor’

Lindsay Lohan admitted it has been hard to get back to work following her arrests and rehab stays of 2007.

Lohan told Paper magazine’s latest issue that she hasn’t been on a movie set since last summer when she starred in “I Know Who Killed Me.”

“Right now I just want to find a great script, a great role,” Lohan told Paper. “I was so used to working and working and working, and for a good few months there was nothing for me to do. Now I know what it’s like to be an out-of-work actor, and how much it scares me.”

Lohan pulled out of a film alongside Kiera Knightley – “The Edge of Love” — because of her arrests and subsequent treatment at Utah’s Cirque Lodge rehab facility last year.

As part of her DUI sentence, Lohan was ordered to perform community service at a Los Angeles-area morgue. Paper interviewed her prior to the start of her hours, and at the time, Lohan said it was something she was frightened by.

“It’s scary, but it’s something I have to do,” Lohan said. “It’ll be good if I need to use it in a role.”

Now, claiming to be sober, Lohan reflected on why she was partying so hard.

“I had a lot going on in my life and that was a way of hiding from it,” Lohan said. “I hadn’t seen my dad [Michael Lohan]; I had a lot of work stress ’cause I was constantly working and never took time to stop. Everything was go-go-go, and the easiest thing was to run away from it, going out and drinking at night. You know, you don’t have to think when you let go sometimes… But I didn’t realize it was getting in the way of my work — what I’ve worked for my whole life.”
