Lindsay Lohan is set to take the stage as the host of “Saturday Night Live” for the fourth time this weekend – and as it turns out, her “SNL” return was all her idea.
“Did Lorne call you?” Jimmy Fallon asked Lindsay in an interview on Thursday night, on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” referring to “SNL” boss Lorne Michaels.
“No, I actually was calling Lorne… And I kept asking him, and not harassing him, but I wasn’t giving up,” Lindsay revealed. “And I was like, ‘Can I host? Can I host? Can we do something together?’ And he was in LA, and you know Lorne, he’s very straight to the point, and he was like, ‘What about March 3?’
“And I was like, ‘I’m free! I’ll make myself free!’”
While Lindsay kept mum over what types of sketches she’ll participate in this time around, she did have an offer for the former “SNL” alum-turned-late-night-funnyman.
“Will you stop by the show on Saturday? Like walk on and do something?” Lindsay asked Jimmy.
“You want me to come on your show?” a befuddled Jimmy responded. “I’ll do anything for you if you want me to do it. I’ll do that.”
Besides “SNL,” Lindsay also has another new project on her hands — taking on the role of Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime TV movie “Liz and Dick.”
“I am playing Elizabeth Taylor — it starts with me as her in ‘Cleopatra’ [and] it spans over the years with her relationship with Richard Burton, which [spanned] towards the end of their lives.”
And while Lindsay said they hadn’t decided who would be playing Richard Burton in the made-for-TV-movie, Jimmy did have a suggestion.
“I’m not doing anything. Want to invite me to something else?” Jimmy laughed. “I could play Richard Burton!”
