Lindsay Lohan’s ‘Inferno’ Producer Stands By His Star; Michael Lohan Weighs In

Following Lindsay Lohan’s Friday night admission that she failed a drug test, the actress’ immediate career plans are uncertain, but the team behind her latest upcoming film project, the Linda Lovelace porn biopic “Inferno,” is standing by the star.

“We are not expressing irritation, nor ‘ beyond irritated’ to anyone – that is not to say we would not be upset over a breach of the court by Lindsay that has affected her personally, or the potential production schedule or location of the production significantly,” “Inferno” producer Chris Hanley told People when asked about rumors of problems following Lindsay’s recent setback.

Adding, “We are way not happy to not be making this movie this year as planned, and if the ability to shoot in a film incentive program state is not available due to travel limitation placed on Lindsay, that would be a concern, but that cannot be addressed until it is known.”

Despite the star’s recent rollercoaster life, Hanley is standing by his star and believes she can prevail.

“We do believe that Lindsay’s talent does weigh very heavily in this matter. Addictive personality disorder issues are pervasive in the film industry. I have worked with Robert Downey and others on movies I have made, and, frankly, talent and passion for a project matter the most to me,” he told the mag. “Lindsay’s talent and my first-hand knowledge of Lindsay from experience, since I have known her for some years and was with her in Cannes at the Film Festival where she was promoting Inferno, is that she can overcome her particular disease.”

The film’s director, Matt Wilder, told the mag that Lindsay’s drug test failure could be a major setback for production.

“Did this throw us for a U-turn? Sure,” Matt said. “But no one has conveyed any pissiness about it.”

The director explained that production on the film is still set to begin on November 15 in New Orleans, but could change based on the outcome of Lindsay’s appearance in court this week.

On Monday morning, Michael Lohan issued a warning to anyone involved with his daughter’s drug use.

“Now that Lisa Bloom and I have tackled the doctors who have been writing Lindsay the prescriptions, and if it turns out that Lindsay is positive for Cocaine AND/OR alcohol, all I can say is ‘watch out’ to the person(s) who allowed this to happen in their presence and sold or gave her the cocaine or alcohol,” Michael said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “Again, Lisa, my attorney in NY, Ed Burke Jr. and I will sack, the people involved in this situation!”
