Lindsey Vonn On ESPYs Tiger Woods Joke: ‘I Figured Something Was Coming’

Lindsey Vonn found herself an unexpected participant in Joel McHale’s Tiger Woods joke at the ESPYs – but the skier wasn’t all that surprised to hear the jab.

“I felt like it was kind of an easy layup, so I figured something was coming,” Lindsey told Access Hollywood at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards on Thursday – one day after the ESPY Awards.

During the ESPYs, host Joel McHale took a shot at Tiger’s infamous relationship woes, most recently his split from Lindsey.

“Many are calling Jordan Speith the new Tiger Woods, which is great news for golf – and terrible news for the future Mrs. Jordan Speith,” Joel cracked on the ESPYs stage.

As the punchline hit, the cameras flashed to Lindsey (who split from Tiger in May after nearly three years of dating) in the audience, who couldn’t help but shrug and smile in a priceless reaction.

So any hard feelings towards the ESPYs host for dragging her into the joke? Not at all!

“He’s a great guy. I love Joel. I think he did a really great job,” she told Access. “You know that happens at those kinds of events. Jokes are made and it’s all in good fun.”
