Lisa Vanderpump, star of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” is about to be crowned.
Jeffrey Sanker, producer of White Party Palm Springs, announced today that Vanderpump will be honored as “Queen of the White Party” and also host the event’s White Carpet.
“Supporting the LGBT community has been a life-long mission of mine,” Vanderpump said. “Ken and I opened the Shadow Lounge in London’s SoHo district years ago – and I’ve heard so many wonderful stories about the White Party – I can’t wait!”
In advance of this year’s event, April 6-9, Sanker scored three trophies at the 7th Annual JustCircuit Awards Gala, held March 25 in South Beach, Florida. Sanker and the event snagged honors for Party Promoter/Producer of the Year; Party Weekend of the Year and Best (U.S.) Host Hotel of the Year – the Renaissance Palm Springs.
This weekend, Mary J. Blige will headline White Party Palm Springs, the annual gay event happening. Blige will take the stage of the Palm Springs Convention Center on Saturday, April 7 for White Party 3D 2012.
“With her track record of eight multi-platinum albums, nine Grammy Awards, four American Music Awards and a Golden Globe nomination, I am delighted to bring the legendary Mary J. Blige into the mix at the largest gay dance music festival in North America,” said event producer Sanker.
Said Blige, “Being connected [to fans]. . .is what keeps me going.”
“The X Factor” winner, Melanie Amaro, will headline Sunday’s T Dance party.
The weekends’ DJ sets will feature Dave Aude, Nervo, Manny Lehman, Theresa, Hector Fonseca, Dawna Montel, DJ Pornstar, Casey Alva, Scotty K., Paulo and DJ Grind.
