Liz Taylor: ‘No One Is Going To Play Elizabeth Taylor, But Elizabeth Taylor Herself!’

Despite the casting rumors, no one is going to play Elizabeth Taylor in a film based around her life and romance with Richard Burton, according to the Dame herself.

The celebrated actress, Dame and multiple Oscar winner hit her Twitter on Thursday night to set the record straight over rumors that several Hollywood actresses – including Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angelina Jolie — were in the running to play her in a movie about her life and legendary relationship with Burton.

Liz and Richard had a lengthy love affair and were married twice.

“Hold your horses world. I’ve been hearing all kinds of rumours about someone being cast to play me in a film about Richard and myself,” Dame Liz Tweeted on Thursday. “No one is going to play Elizabeth Taylor, but Elizabeth Taylor herself.”

The Dame went on to note that someone could play her one-day, but showed her fiery spirit by noting it won’t be any time soon.

“Not at least until I’m dead, and at the moment I’m having too much fun being alive…and I plan on staying that way,” she added. “Happiness to all.”

The BBC previously reported that a film was rumored to be planned based around Elizabeth and Burton’s relationship, based on a book by Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger.
