“Star Wars” Day just got even better!
New details about Lupita Nyong’o and Adam Driver’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” characters have been revealed, thanks to Annie Leibovitz’s amazing on-set photo spread in the new Vanity Fair.
Lupita plays a CGI character named Maz Kanata. Little is known about Maz – whether she leans toward the Rebels or what’s left of the Empire – but she is a pirate.

The Oscar-winning actress is featured in a behind-the-scenes video with her face covered in motion capture tracking dots.
And after months of rumors, we now know that “Girls” star Adam Driver is a bad guy in that galaxy far, far away.
The actor will star as Kylo Ren. In a photo published in the mag, he is seen commanding snowtroopers who are loyal to the evil First Order on a frozen planet.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opens in theaters on December 18, 2015.
