Lynda Carter On Wonder Woman’s New Look: ‘Very Sexy!’

Lynda Carter squeezed into scanty spandex for years on TV’s “Wonder Woman,” but the star says she’s happy to see her character’s comic book inspiration get a new look.

“I think it will take time for people to get over not seeing a lot of leg,” Lynda told ABC News of the revamp, which updates Wonder Woman’s style with tights, a jacket and a whole lot of edge.

“I think it’s going to be very sexy and it’s new and I love the little cap sleeve. You know, she’s a hip girl,” Lynda added.

The star played the role for three years on the iconic 1970s series. A film adaptation has been long rumored, with actresses such as Beyonce throwing their tiaras in the ring for the part.

The new costume arrives in “Wonder Woman” issue No. 600, out this week, along with a new backstory and fresh challenges for the superheroine.

“I think Wonder Woman has a mind of her own. And I think she was just kind of ready for something new,” Lynda said. “She’s got an attitude and if this is the new thing that she wants to wear, well, by God, she’s going to wear it. And I like that. And I hope that in the story someone mentions, where’s the old one? And she says, get over it!”
