Maksim Chmerkovskiy ‘Having A Blast’ On ‘Dancing’

Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy took home the highest score of the season (so far) on Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars,” but they know they’ve had people looking for great things from them since day 1.

“I feel like, you know, the expectation is on us anyway,” Maks told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson after the show.

But Maks, who recently returned to “DWTS,” said that although there is pressure, he has been having a blast with his gold medal-winning partner.

“Honestly, I’m enjoying the season so much,” Maks said, of dancing with Meryl. “I’m not in the competition, I’m just having a blast and, you know, I got somebody I can perform with and do stuff with. Why not do it?”

Meryl said her sexy foxtrot with Maks on Monday, which earned 39 points (10s from Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and guest judge Robin Roberts of “GMA,” and a 9 from Len Goodman), was special from the day it came together in rehearsal.

“I’ve been feeling great in this dance kind of since we started working on it and I think it was a really special dance that Maks put together,” Meryl said. “For me, it felt like a 10, kind of, within myself. … [It was] so very enjoyable.”
