Marcia Cross Has ‘Great Hope’ For Michael Douglas’ Cancer Battle; Says Her Husband Is ‘100 Percent Right Now’

“Desperate Housewives” star and passionate anti-cancer advocate Marcia Cross is sending her well wishes to Michael Douglas following his diagnosis of a throat tumor.

Access Hollywood recently caught up with the actress and “Stand Up 2 Cancer” supporter where we got an update on her husband, Tom Mahoney, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2009.

“He’s great, he’s 100 percent right now, he’s fantastic,” Marcia told Access from the set of her hit ABC series.

“I look at Michael Douglas, who is about to undergo the same thing and that makes me have great hope for him and know that he can make it,” she continued. “It’s a tough road, but it is beatable.”

The actress, who appears in a “Stand Up 2 Cancer” PSA for the upcoming telethon, shared her thoughts on the future of the cancer battle.

“It’s going to have to start shifting to prevention, not just making money to cure cancer,” she explained. “We really have to start paying attention to our lifestyles.”

“Stand Up 2 Cancer,” with Michael Douglas and a slew of other stars including George Clooney, Will Smith and Gwyneth Paltrow, will air commercial-free from 8 PM – 9 PM EDT on September 10 on NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, as well as various cable channels.
