Maria Menounos To Host NBC’s ‘Clash Of The Choirs’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (December 11, 2007) – Dust off your robes, stand up straight, and prepare to belt it out, “Clash Of The Choirs” is coming to NBC.

Access Hollywood’s own Maria Menounos will host the NBC live reality special starting on Monday. The competition pits five celebrity-led teams against one another to determine who is the best choir in America.

Renowned singers Nick Lachey, Kelly Rowland, Blake Shelton, and Michael Bolton will lead the choir teams.

“We’re going to getpeople to sing from the deepest place that they know. That’s what’s going to compete. That’s what’s going to show up at the end of this competition,” sayschoir captain Michael Bolton.

The amateur choir singers were handpicked by each of the five team captains from their respective hometowns. The team captain will prepare their choir to compete live for the title of “America’s Best Choir.”

The choirs will perform music ranging from current pop hits to beloved holiday classics. Viewers will vote for their favorite each night.

Even the star captains know this reality competition will be unlike any other. “I’m pretty much excited to see what they bring. It’s not gonna be anything like my choir!” says choir captain Kelly Rowland.

The final choir showdown is scheduled for Dec. 20
