Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Having Twins, President & First Lady First To Hear News

It’s twins on the way for Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon!

Nick announced the double dose of baby news on his 92.3 NOW show, “Rollin’ with Nick Cannon” on Thursday morning.

“We are having twins,” he said.

The couple kept their good news a secret from almost everybody – expect President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, who the couple saw this weekend while taping TNT’s “Christmas in Washington 2010”

“They, ironically enough, questioned my wife about, you know, ‘So, what are you having, are you having twins?’” Nick explained. “And at this point she hadn’t told anybody anything because doctors advised us to keep it to ourselves until we get further along. And because of the excitement, because of the emotion, she was overwhelmed [and] she shared with the President and First Lady that we are having twins.”

According to the Associated Press, Mariah Carey’s publicist Cindi Berger also confirmed the news as well.

After months of media speculation, Mariah and Nick Cannon broke their silence about the pregnancy in October in an exclusive interview with Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush from inside the couple’s Manhattan home.

“Yes, we are pregnant, this is true!” Mariah told Billy of the baby that is due this spring. “It’s been a long journey. It’s been tough because I’ve been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy.”
