After five weeks and 30 fewer pounds on his frame, Mark Cuban finally lost his footing on “Dancing with the Stars.”
Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, and former “Bond” babe Jane Seymour received the lowest votes after Monday’s competition show, landing them in the bottom two. At the end of the day, however, it was Cuban who was sent packing.
Following Tuesday night’s broadcast, where Mark danced his final samba with partner Kym Johnson, the millionaire businessman told Access Hollywood he thoroughly enjoyed his time on the show.
“It was a amazing experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat,” he said.
Cuban suggested that “Dancing” was one of the hardest challenges he’s faced.
“You get to a point where you get to be a adult and life is suppose to be a certain way and you stop taking risks and this is the biggest risk you can take,” he said. “It doesn’t matter how much money you have, it doesn’t matter how famous you are or not famous, it’s when you walk out there and the music starts playing either you hit your spot and you dance or you suck.”
Surprisingly, one person who could have, but didn’t discredit Cuban’s “Dancing” attempts was rival Donald Trump. Though not at the show, “The Apprentice” star gave his former reality TV rival some hearty praise.
“I think he did a great job,” Trump told Access Hollywood. “Look, this is me speaking, I think he did a great job and I think it took a lot of guts.”
As for Cuban’s “Dancing” co-stars, they were sad to see him go. “All My Children’s” Cameron Mathieson said Cuban put in a tremendous effort during his run.
“I think he is probably one of the hardest working out of all of us,” Mathieson said. “We are going to miss him cause he is obviously a great.”
While his castmates will miss him, it was no big surprise that Cuban got the boot. Jane Seymour’s bottom two placement, however, was met with astonishment by all.
“It was shocking because she is doing so well with the judges,” Mathieson’s partner, dancer Edyta Sliwinska said. “Her scores are really high. . . . I think this season is the most unpredictable out of all of them so far.”
As for Seymour herself, she is continuing with her always-positive attitude in the competition.
“They were phoning in and texting but they need to do it more, a lot more,” Seymour said of her fans. “They need to find a lot more friends and co-workers – anything anyone can do because I am just loving this.”
