Marlee Matlin Gets Fit With Access: Day 2

Marlee Matlin faced a big moment as we kicked off her get fit challenge: hopping on the scale!

“How much?” Marlee asked worryingly after she stepped on the weighing device. “Ahhhhhhh! 129.”

After getting on the scale, Marlee, who at 129, found herself 30 pounds heavier than when at the age of 19, she starred in “Children of a Lesser God,” faced a junk food intervention at the hands of celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak.

“What do we have here?” Harley asked as he looked in Marlee’s cabinet.

“My favorite peanut butter,” Marlee replied.

“Wow! This is the largest tub of peanut butter that I have ever seen in my life,” he said.

Marlee has healthy options from FreshDining.com delivered to the set while working, but home is where her temptation lies. Celebrity fitness and diet expert Harley took over Marlee’s kitchen to make sure it was up to code, the 5-Factor Diet code.

“It’s based on very simple, no calorie counting, no carb cutting, no food weighing, five simple meals a day,” Harley said.

But making healthy meals requires a healthy kitchen.

Harley raided Marlee’s fridge throwing out juice, cream cheese and butter as Marlee looked on, grimacing.

“I think this bag is full, can someone give me another bag?” Harley said as he continued his junk food clean out. “Let’s take a look in the freezer.”

Out went the ice cream and chicken tenders. And from the cabinet? Her Reese’s.

“Can I have my Reese’s back?” Marlee asked.

“No you can’t have that back,” Harley answered, showing some tough love.
