Paula Deen might be in the midst of a professional spiral – following her admission of using the N-word in the past – but she does have the support of a fellow TV lifestyle personality, one who knows her fair share about public scrutiny.
“I feel sorry for Paula Deen,” Martha Stewart told Andy Cohen on Wednesday’s “Watch What Happens Live.”
“She’s a public figure and I know you have to be extremely careful being a public figure,” she said.
Stewart chose her words wisely when speaking about Deen’s downfall.
“I don’t really want to say if I agree with it or not,” she said. “I just feel that you have to really watch yourself. Especially in this day and age with cameras all over you and Google and records.”
As for the Food Network firing Deen, Stewart told Andy she had “no comment” on the matter.
In 2004, Stewart served five months behind bars following her ImClone insider-trading scandal.
