‘Marvel’s Jessica Jones’ Premiere Date Announced

“Marvel’s Jessica Jones” finally has a release date.

On Thursday, Marvel and Netflix announced on Twitter that their newest television series drops November 20 on the streaming platform.

The series stars Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, who after a brief time as a superhero transitions to life as a detective, working cases in New York City as she rebuilds her life and career.

Also released on Thursday was a 54-second video promo for the show, with an animated glimpse of “Alias Investigations,” where Jessica works.

Over the summer, Executive Producer Melissa Rosenberg told Access Hollywood about how hard Krysten has been working on the show, which will span 13 episodes in its first season.

“We are beating the hell out of her. The show is called ‘Jessica Jones’ and Jessica Jones is in almost every scene. That means 13 episodes,” the EP told Access. “It is a long haul for Krysten Ritter, but man, she’s tough. She continues to deliver.”

Also starring in the series is David Tennant as Kilgrave, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker and Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty and Wil Traval in unidentified roles.

“Jessica Jones” is the second installment in four series (including “Daredevil,” and the upcoming “Marvel’s Luke Cage” and “Marvel’s Iron Fist”) that will lead up to “Marvel’s The Defenders,” which will see a team up of the main characters.
