NEW YORK (October 13, 2006) — Belle from “Beauty and the Beast” is morphing into Mary Poppins.
The new “Mary Poppins” musical starts previews tomorrow on Broadway. It officially opens November 16th.
The famous nanny is being played by Ashley Brown.
Brown, who’s in her early 20s, has been starring on Broadway as Belle in “Beauty and the Beast.”
The Poppins play has been running in London for nearly two years. It features many of the original songs from the movie.
