‘Today’ Show’s Matt Lauer Officially Retires ‘Where In The World’ Segment… For Now

“Today” show co-host Matt Lauer is officially retiring the NBC show’s popular “Where in the World is Matt Lauer?” segment after 10 seasons of globetrotting… for now.

On Friday’s Access Hollywood Live, Billy Bush asked Matt – live via satellite from Barbados – if he was ready to hang up his traveling hat.

‘Today’ Show Revives ‘Where In The World Is Matt Lauer?’

Matt Lauer is adding to his frequent-flier miles.

NBC’s “Today” show said Monday that it will revive its popular “Where in the World is Matt Lauer?” feature for a week starting Nov. 7. Lauer last hit the road in 2008.

Following his cameo with Will Ferrell in the new movie “Land of the Lost,” NBC’s Matt Lauer had better get used to being part of a new catchphrase.

“For the past 10 years I have walked down the street to a chorus of ‘Where in the world is Matt Lauer?’” he said, “and I’m thoroughly convinced that starting June 5 that will change to ‘Matt Lauer can suck it.’”
