Matthew Perry Heading Back To The Good Wife

Matthew Perry’s sitcom, “Go On,” may have been picked up by NBC for a full season run, but it won’t stop him from returning to CBS drama “The Good Wife” as Peter Florrick’s political foe, Mike Kresteva.

On Friday, CBS announced that Matthew would return to the show to play Mike, the Chicago attorney who is running against Peter (Chris Noth) for Governor.

Matthew will appear in one episode, set to air in early 2013.

Just a few months ago, Christine Baranski, who plays Diane Lockhart on the series, said she suspected Matthew (who appeared in Season 3), would come back to the show.

“I think Matthew is wanting, actually — he loves, loves, loves the show – I think he’s going to try and be on the show, if the schedule permits,” the 2012 Emmy nominee in July.

Fans of the show know that Peter and Mike aren’t the only candidates for governor. Maddie Hayward (former “ER” star Maura Tierney) recently revealed that she plans to also enter the race.

“The Good Wife” airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on CBS.
