Meet Miss Golden Globe 2011, Gia Mantegna

The tradition of honoring the child of a Hollywood star as Miss Golden Globe continues in 2011 with TeenNick star Gia Mantegna, daughter of actor Joe Mantegna.

Access Hollywood caught up with Gia at the Miss Golden Globes Party in Beverly Hills on Thursday night where she was bursting to finally share the good news with the world.

“This has been an on-going tradition for years and I can’t believe I’m a part of it so early on in my career and I’m just super, super excited,” she told Access.

Gia said her parents (dad Joe was nominated for a Golden Globe in 1999 for “The Rat Pack”) are thrilled for her.

“They’re very proud and extremely excited. It’s been very top-secret information for a while, so I think we’re all very excited just finally being able to tell everybody,” Gia explained. “I think it’s been about a month, maybe a month and a half, so you know, very tight lipped about it but we’re here, now we can talk about it. Now we all can get on our Twitters!”

The 20-year-old actress stars in TeenNick’s “Gigantic.” Gia has also appeared on “Secret Life of the American Teenager” and her father’s series, “Criminal Minds.”

The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air live on January 16 at 5 PM on NBC.
