Mel B On Rumored Spice Girls Olympics Reunion: ‘I Look Forward To Being There With The Girls’

Britain’s biggest selling group since The Beatles may be getting back together again.

Mel B is hoping Simon Fuller, the Spice Girls’ manager, can help reunite the girl group in time to perform at the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony in London, England.

“If anyone can pull this off Simon Fuller can,” she told Access Hollywood on Monday. “He is the best! I’m from the U.K. and I think it’s amazing the Olympics are gonna be in London and I look forward to being there with the girls!”

On Monday, Simon told the press he was indeed hoping to get Mel B, Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Mel C and Emma Bunton back together in time for the games.

“They stand for so much in British music history and I can’t think of a better time for them to get back together for another performance,” manager Simon Fuller said according to Britain’s Mirror newspaper. “The demand for them as a band is as strong as ever.”

Fuller said the women, who most recently reunited and toured in 2008, could be coaxed back together once again in time for the games.

“They will not want to be performing hits like ‘Wannabe’ in their 40s, but it’s amazing how often people talk about another reunion. And I think if they do it, it’s going to be in 2012,” he said.

Reports surfaced over the summer that four of the Spicies, sans Posh, met up to talk about a possible reunion, but no details have yet been announced.
