Mel Gibson In Talks To Join ‘Machete Kills’

Despite his recent less-than-flattering headlines about his war of words with screenwriter Joe Eszterhas, Mel Gibson has reportedly lined up another acting gig.

According to Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, Mel is in talks for a supporting role in “Machete Kills.”
Danny Trejo is returning in this follow-up to 2010’s “Machete,” directed by Robert Rodriguez.

Michelle Williams is also reportedly being eyed for a role in the movie, about the blade-wielding former Federale title character. In the sequel, Trejo’s character is reportedly enlisted by the U.S. government to track down an arms dealer.

According to THR, Rodriguez expressed his interest in casting Mel last week at a press conference and also made an appearance at Mel’s premiere of “Get the Gringo,” his latest project that is being released via VOD stateside.
