Melissa Joan Hart & Mark Ballas Make A Move For The Top On ‘Dancing’

Singing star Mya and her partner, Dmitry Chaplin, Lambada’d their way to 28 points on Monday’s “Dancing With the Stars,” but they had to share the top spot with a new pair of visitors to the Season 9 leaderboard throne – Melissa Joan Hart and Mark Ballas.

Drawing on her acting skills, Melissa channeled a flapper as she danced the Charleston with Mark, and the two netted 9s from judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Len Goodman, and a perfect 10 from Bruno Tonioli.

“Melissa, you brought the 1920’s Hollywood flapper back to life,” the Italian judge raved. “You have the role 110 percent!”

In fact, it appeared Mya’s moves over the past several weeks were what kept her from reigning atop the leaderboard with just Dmitry. After the pair’s Lambada, which both Carrie Ann and Bruno gave 10s to, Len, who offered them just an 8, said he was expecting more.

“My expectations are really high and I felt in the Lambada I was going to get a bit more,” he said.

Third place for the evening went to Joanna Krupp and Derek Hough, the latter who even took his shirt off for his Lambada with the model.

“I know what I want for tomorrow night’s encore,” Len said of their sexy dance, which netted a 26 out of 30. “Derek, you never disappoint, whatever dance it is, you come up with fantastic choreography.”

And he wasn’t the only one raving.

“All I can say is I hope that the children were in bed.” Carrie Ann quipped after their dance ended in a parallel sort of move.

“I bet some of the adults are now,” co-host Tom Bergeron chimed in.
