Melissa Rycroft: ‘I Should Have Thrown A Jab’ At Bachelor Jason Mesnick

Melissa Rycroft is happily married to Tye Strickland, but looking back on her days on Season 13 of “The Bachelor” – where Jason Mesnick blindsided and dumped her on TV – Melissa wishes she would have let him have it!

“I should have been madder. I should have thrown a jab,” she said on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live after watching a clip of the infamous “Bachelor” moment. “That’s internally what I wished I would have done.

”[It was] probably one of the most embarrassing moments of my life,” she continued. “I wish someone would have given me some sort of warning, probably moreso Jason, than anybody else.”

The reality star, who wrote her first book, “My Reality,” explained why she never tossed her hat into the relationship reality TV ring.

“They asked, they were pretty persistent,” she told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover. “I had no interest.

“What I had just seen was the ‘Bachelor’ and they threw him under the bus, he was their guy, and they made him look bad,” she continued. “And what would have stopped them from doing that to me and I would have nobody to blame but myself if I got embarrassed, hurt, humiliated again.”

Though her time on “The Bachelor” was rough, Melissa is grateful for it.

“Had it not happened that way, I would not be where I am professionally,” she added.

Melissa’s “My Reality” is on bookshelves now.
