Michael Buble Tops The Billboard Album Chart

NEW YORK, NY (May 16, 2007) — Michael Buble sings his way to the top of the Billboard 200 chart after debuting at # 2 last week. Buble’s “Call Me Irresponsible,” made up mainly of classics and standards, sold 144,950 copies this week.Bone Thugs N Harmony debuted at # 2 this week with “Strength and Loyalty,” the rap group’s first Top 10 album since “BTNHResurrection” debuted at # 2 in 2000. “Strength & Loyalty,” which features appearances from The Game, Mariah Carey, and Akon (who also served as producer along with James Dupri), sold 119,283 copies.R&B singer Bobby Valentino’s second album “Special Occasion” debuts at # 3, the same place his self-titled debut entered in 2005. Ne-Yo took a bit of a fall this week, dropping from first place to # 4 with his Def Jam album “Because of You.”Avril Lavigne slipped one spot to land at # 5 with “The Best Damn Thing,” while Daughtry increased their sales enough to move them up a spot at # 6.

Barbra Streisand is back on the charts with her 29th Top 10 album, “Streisand: Live In Concert 2006.” She debuts at # 7.Carrie Underwood shows staying power, as “Some Hearts” climbs two spots to # 8 after spending 78 weeks on the chart.Bjork is back on the scene with her new album “Volta” at # 9.
