Michael Douglas + Rum + Cherry Picker = Funny Story

Michael Douglas probably is more
comfortable when his two feet are on the ground.

He got a scare Monday when he lost his footing while standing in an open cherry-picker cage 25 feet in the air with four other people. It was in Hamilton, Bermuda.

He tells the Royal Gazette newspaper there he “had a good laugh and stumbled.” He calls it “a little moment.”

What was Michael Douglas doing 25 feet off the ground in the basket of a cherry-picker, you ask? He was taking part in a Bermuda tradition. He was christening a new building by pouring rum on its roof. In this case, it’s the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art. He’s a benefactor for the museum.

Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones own a home in Bermuda.
