Michael Douglas Says Wife Catherine Zeta-Jones ‘Doing Great’; Rehearsing For ‘Rock Of Ages’

Michael Douglas says wife Catherine Zeta-Jones is doing well and is enjoying being back at work following her decision to go public with her bipolar II disorder.

“Family is great,” the actor told Access Hollywood at the Urban Zen Stephan Weiss Apple Awards in New York City on Thursday night.

“Catherine is doing ‘Rock of Ages’ down in Miami. She’s doing a rehearsal for it now and doing the dancing stuff [and] coming back tonight,” he continued. “She’s doing great. She just finished a couple of pictures in Louisiana. So, it’s all good.”

The 66-year-old actor, who told Access in January that he successfully beat throat cancer, said he and the family will likely be spending the upcoming Fourth of July holiday abroad.

“We usually go to Spain in the summers, so we make a big Fourth of July… because we’re not here, we’re not in the U.S.,” he told Access. “Last time I tried to surprise [the family] with fireworks out in the ocean on a raft, except it started getting a little rough and fireworks started coming in wrong angles.”

Catherine’s “Rock of Ages,” with a slew of Hollywood’s biggest names including Tom Cruise, Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin, is slated to hit theaters on June 1, 2012.
