Miley Cyrus On Her ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ Video: ‘What You See In Me Is The Same’

Miley Cyrus may sprout wings and dance around a cage in the dark in the new video for her latest single, “Can’t Be Tamed,” but the star says she’s still the same old Miley.

“The lighting is different, the outfit may be different, but what you see in me is the same since I was 11 years old on ‘Hannah Montana,’” the singer-actress, now 17, told MTV News.

The clip turned heads with its grown-up visuals and has drawn comparisons to Britney Spears and Rihanna, and Miley admitted that her image is evolving.

“I think it definitely shows a change of what people remember me as, but it’s not trying to not be me,” she said, explaining that she wanted the video to be a reflection of who she is. “I didn’t want to be just a character. I wanted to be myself and just in a bird-like form in the way I dressed.”

Though she’s changing up her style, Miley added that her fans will still recognize her.

“‘There’s the smile we know her for,’ [they’ll say]… ‘These are things that she does,’” Miley said.
