Miley Cyrus Says She’s ‘Committed’ To ‘Hannah Montana’

Miley Cyrus is staying in the Mouse’s house.

Despite reports over the weekend that Miley was hoping to leave Disney’s “Hannah Montana” series, the actress and singer said she has no plans to split from the show.

“I am fully committed to ‘Hannah Montana,’” the star said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “It’s what gave me this amazing opportunity to reach out to so many people.”

Over the weekend, TMZ first reported that Miley and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, were turning up late to the “Hannah Montana” set, angering their fellow castmates. The Web site suggested the family were engaging in such behavior to get out of her “Hannah” contract.

According to Miley though, she’s thrilled about the next installment of “Hannah Montana” on the Disney Channel.

“I’m really excited about our new season. We are making great new episodes that I can’t wait for our fans to see,” she said. “And, I’m looking forward to the ‘Hannah Montana’ movie that will be out in the spring.”

As for TMZ, when contacted by Access Hollywood, a rep maintained, “the story is accurate.”

In related “Hannah Montana” movie news, it was announced earlier today that the film will hit cinema screens on April 10 instead of the previously announced May 1.
