Miranda Kerr’s Mom: Orlando Bloom A ‘True Gentleman’ When Asking For Daughter’s Hand In Marriage

Orlando Bloom may be a big star, but when it comes to marriage, he’s apparently just an old-fashioned guy.

The former “Pirates of the Caribbean” star and model Miranda Kerr tied the knot, Access Hollywood confirmed earlier this week. But when it came to asking for his fiancee-to-be’s hand, Miranda’s mother said Orlando did things by the book.

“Orlando being the true gentleman he is, followed tradition by asking for Miranda’s hand in marriage and we had no hesitation,” Therese Kerr told People. “They truly are a gorgeous couple, are very much in love and bring out the best in each other.”

The newlyweds – who have already headed off on their honeymoon in an undisclosed location –tied the knot a month after their engagement was confirmed.

As far as Miranda’s mom is concerned, the nuptials couldn’t have come soon enough.

“All we have ever wanted is for our children to be healthy and happy, and we have never seen Miranda healthier and happier than she is right now,” Therese added. “We are thrilled to welcome Orlando into the Kerr family.”

Miranda, 27, appears in both Prada and Jil Sander’s fall campaigns, while Orlando, 33, has a number of films in the works, including “Main Street” and the futuristic “The Cross.”
