Miranda Lambert’s ‘Surreal’ Big Night At ACM Awards

Miranda Lambert had quite a big night on Sunday at the 48th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, where she took home four awards, but her biggest joy might have come from being in the company of her fellow country music greats.

Access Hollywood caught up with the singer following her big win in Las Vegas, where she appeared to be in shock over her awards (including song of the year and top female vocalist) and also rubbing elbows with stars like Shania Twain and Faith Hill.

“I sang in my hairbrush my whole life to Shania Twain and Faith [Hill] and Reba [McEntire],” she told Access. “I went to see Shania last night with Faith and Reba and Kelly Clarkson… it was like so surreal to be able to be part of them as a peer and not just a fan like I’ve always been. I still acted like a crazy fan though, I have to admit!”

According to Miranda, the country music community is all about support and positivity.

“I feel like the whole night was pretty surreal. You know, country music is a genre [where] people just really do root for each other,” she told Access. “We’re all friends and we’re all fans of each other.”

Miranda told Access that she was going to celebrate her big night by getting cozy with husband Blake Shelton, who served as the show’s host.

“I’m going to go find him. I haven’t seen him since he’s the host and he’s busy. So, I’d love to get a hug from my husband,” she added.
