Miss USA Tara Conner Admits Drug Use

NEW YORK (January 31, 2007) — Miss USA Tara Conner is owning up to doing more than underage drinking.

She tells People magazine that she’s dabbled in cocaine, but she says alcohol was her biggest vice. She says “once I put it in my body, I would start craving more.”

The beauty queen is fresh out of rehab after nearly losing her crown for hard-partying in New York nightclubs. She says rehab was a wake-up call, saying she now realizes she’s an alcoholic.

Conner also shoots down reports that her wild ways also included promiscuity. And she says it wasn’t New York City’s fault that she turned to drugs and alcohol.

Last December, Donald Trump, who owns the Miss USA pageant, said the contrite Conner could hold onto her crown if she changed her ways. She then entered rehab.
