‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’: The Series

ABC is planning to pick up a series based on the movie “Mr.& Mrs. Smith.”

The Hollywood Reporter reports the film’s director, Doug Liman, will also work on the pilot. The film’s writer, Simon Kinberg, also wrote the pilot’s script, which he describes as “‘Married…With Children’ with guns.”

The show will take place about six months after the movie, which featured Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

The Smiths have bought a house in the suburbs and have re-established their businesses, but their sexual spark has dwindled.

Kinberg says the show is “about any married couple trying to balance professional and home life.”
