My Two Dads: New Details Emerge Over ‘Will & Grace’ Vet Sean Hayes’ Return To NBC

New details have emerged about former “Will & Grace” star Sean Hayes’ return to NBC.

The funnyman, who played Jack McFarland on the long running sitcom opposite Debra Messing, Eric McCormack and Megan Mullally, will return to NBC in a comedy where he plays one half of a gay couple, who are raising a 12-year-old, Entertainment Weekly reported on Monday night.

According to EW.com, Peter Tolan, the co-creator of “Rescue Me,” and his writing partner, Michael Wimer, are close to signing on to the untitled show.

Tolan would be a writer and executive producer on the show.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, earlier this month at the Television Critics Association Summer Session 2011, Hayes confirmed he was planning to head back in front of the camera in a comedy for NBC, but offered few details beyond confirmation it was in a comedy.

Hayes will also be executive producing NBC’s new fall drama, “Grimm.”

He also recently wrapped up filming “The Three Stooges,” playing Larry, alongside Will Sasso as Curly and Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe.

“The Three Stooges” will hit theaters in 2012.
