NBC Shoots Down Rumors Network Wanted To Fire Christina Aguilera From ‘The Voice’

NBC has shot down a report that the network planned to axe Christina Aguilera after the next season of “The Voice.”

“There is absolutely no truth to the rumor,” Paul Telegdy, NBC Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, told Access Hollywood on Monday.

Earlier in the day, X17 claimed producers at “The Voice,” NBC’s reality singing competition, planned to fire the pop singer as coach for Season 3.

“She doesn’t spend time with her contestants like she’s supposed to. She doesn’t participate,” a source reportedly told X17. “She spends most of her time on set with her boyfriend.”

A rep for Christina Aguilera had no comment when contacted by Access Hollywood about the report.

“The Voice” Season 2 kicks off after the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 5.

The show will then move to its regular night, beginning, Monday February 6 at 8 PM ET/PT.
