‘Newlyweds 2’?: Jessica Simpson’s New Beau Officially Divorced

If someday Jessica Simpson wants to marry her new beau, Eric Johnson, the courts will no longer stand in the couple’s way.

That’s because Eric – a former NFL star – is now officially a divorced man, according to court papers obtained by Access Hollywood.

While the Final Entry of Judgment was entered on October 7 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Eric and his ex-wife, Keri, have been separated since October 2009 and initially filed for divorce in January.

The couple had been married for five years.

Among the details included in the court papers is the division of assets, which breaks down several items, including who will get the couple’s three cars.

Keri gets to keep the 2004 Mercedes E350 and the 2001 Chevy Tahoe – Eric keeps the 2004 Toyota Prius.

No spousal support was awarded to either side.

Since Jessica and Eric were first romantically linked back in May, the singer has made no secret about her feelings towards her new man.

She has posted several photos of the two getting up close and personal on her Twitter page, along with several adoring messages.

“I met a wonderful man. Damn I’m lucky,” she Tweeted in September.

Jessica also Tweeted a photo of the pair kissing in July, with the caption, “Romance 101..getting kissed by my Yalie…me not lookin’ so smart…:) but YUM!”
