Newlyweds Jane Lynch & Dr. Lara Embry Open Up About Romance, First Meeting

Jane Lynch is gushing about her new bride in The New York Times.

The “Glee” and “Party Down” star, who married Dr. Lara Embry in Massachusetts on Monday, was profiled along with her new wife in the paper’s weddings section.

“We actually have a picture of the moment we met,” the comedienne told the paper, referring to a fundraiser in May 2009.

“I thought she was cute,” Embry added. “I said, ‘I want my picture taken with her.’”

Though Embry, a clinical psychologist, called herself “basically ignorant” of her spouse-to-be’s stardom, that didn’t get in the way of their love affair.

“It’s not like she’s marrying out of her species or anything,” Jane told the paper.

The marriage made Jane a parent to Embry’s daughter, Haden, 8, a fact that made it into the actress’ wedding vows.

“[I vow] to do my best to get her ‘iCarly’ tickets,” Jane joked during the wedding, according to the Times.

Jane’s acting career has other family benefits too. The star’s “Vogue” remake for “Glee’s” Madonna episode also made a mark on Haden.

“She was showing it to Haden, and they would practice it together and laugh and sing — and they still do that,” Embry said. “They break out in song and dance spontaneously.”
