Nice Gal, ‘Glee’s’ Jane Lynch Reveals She Was Once A Mean Girl At Homecoming

Her friends and co-stars insist Jane Lynch couldn’t be nicer or further from her “Glee” character Sue Sylvester, but she did have a mean girl moment back in high school.

“I went to Homecoming with this guy and I ditched him in the middle of the dance and I went off with my friends,” Jane told Access Hollywood on Wednesday when asked at the “Glee” TV Academy event in Los Angeles whether she went to her own prom back in high school. “When prom came around, I asked him to go to prom with me and he said, ‘Are you kidding?’ So I didn’t go to prom.”

Next week’s episode of “Glee” features the McKinley High gang heading to prom and Jane said filming the episode was like getting to go to the big dance after all.

“I kind of re-lived my prom in this — or had my only prom — doing the prom episode for ‘Glee,’” she said. “It was really fun and there were wonderful musical numbers and all the kids breaking up [and] getting back together.”

Beyond “Glee,” Jane will soon begin filming the long-awaited “Three Stooges” movie, which will see her playing Mother Superior to Will Sasso, Sean Hayes and Chris Diamantopoulos.

“The script is hilarious, I laughed out loud a hundred times,” Jane said of the upcoming project.

“I’m a big fan of ‘The Three Stooges.’ I watched them growing up and I loved the kind of stock character actors that always played the other people in the world with the Stooges and they’ve written them very well,” she added. “I can’t wait to do it.”
