Nick Cannon Staying By Mariah Carey’s Side As Couple Awaits Birth Of Twins: ‘She Doesn’t Like It When I Leave The House!’

Nick Cannon had to rush off after promoting Season 6 of “America’s Got Talent” at NBC Universal’s Summer Press Day 2011 in Pasadena, Calif., on Friday, at wife Mariah Carey’s insistence.

“She doesn’t like it when I leave the house. I have to get back there now actually,” Nick told Access Hollywood of how things are going for the couple as they await the birth of their twins.

Nick said the babies — a boy and a girl — are due “any day now,” and when asked if they might be on their way this weekend, Nick said, “it could be.”

The “America’s Got Talent” host said he wasn’t sure how the children would end up being born — naturally or induced — because there are two of them.

“They’re twins so you never know,” he said. “Like, you can plan as much as you wanna plan, but they’re gonna come when they wana come.”

Earlier this week, Nick posted a link to a rap for his children, which finds him spitting out lyrics above Sade’s “Pearls” and he explained to Access why he made the song and shared it via Twitter.

“I was just in the mood,” Nick said of the song, where he offers his children “Pearls” of wisdom. “I was working on my mixtape and that was just something I felt I had to do.”
