Nick Carter Charged With Misdemeanor Battery

Nick Carter has been charged with misdemeanor battery
following this arrest on Wednesday night, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

The Backstreet Boy’s bond was set at $1500.

According to a Key West
Police report, Carter and friend Michael Rae Papayans were intoxicated when
officers arrived Wednesday evening at the Hog’s Breath Saloon.

The report claims that the
singer and his friend were refused service by the bartender and they both
became agitated.

Papayans allegedly
head-butted one Hog’s Breath Saloon staff member and Carter allegedly grabbed
another by the throat.

Bodycam footage from police who arrived on the scene
following the scuffle, shows Carter and Papayans handcuffed and being held on
the ground. They denied putting their hands on
anyone and attempted to explain their version of the night’s events
to the officers, with Papayans name-dropping the singer during the exchange. So far, neither
Carter or Papayans have responded to our request for comment.

As
previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Wednesday’s incident isn’t Carter’s first brush with the law. He was
previously booked in 2002 after a nightclub incident in Tampa.
According to E! News, charges were
dismissed as part of a plea deal in which he agreed to perform community
service and pay a fine.

In 2005, Carter reportedly pled guilty to misdemeanor drunk driving and was
ordered to a three-month alcohol treatment program.

The 35-year-old “Dancing
with the Stars” runner-up is currently expecting his first child with wife
Lauren Kitt. They formally announced her pregnancy during a live taping of the hit
reality competition in November.
