Nick Jonas
has likely experienced his fair share of awkward fan encounters, but when he
met “Game of Thrones” star Emilia Clarke it seems he was the one who
got starstruck.
The pop star
and “GoT” enthusiast joined Emilia’s interview with BBC Radio 1’s
“Breakfast Show” on Thursday, and revealed that his first time
talking with the actress didn’t exactly go as planned.
“I actually have already met Emilia … at the Oscars
afterparty,” he told host Nick Grimshaw. “But it wasn’t like, ‘I’m a
fan of your show.’ Actually, that was a part of it, but I was like, ‘I’m also a
fan of your Instagram.’ Which I don’t know if it is a weird thing to say.”

Nick explained that he enjoys following Emilia on the
photo-sharing platform to keep tabs on the “great stuff” she
posts, including “insight into the show” and “behind-the-scenes
pictures.”
Unfortunately, Nick said that he wasn’t sure he articulated
himself as well as he would have liked.

“The minute I walked away I was like, ‘That sounded
stupid,'” he laughed.
“That was maybe after one or two cocktails that I said
that. It was highly embarrassing,” he added.
According to Emilia, however, Nick had nothing to worry
about.
“That’s an amazing thing to say! … I found it very
flattering,” she said of the exchange. “I’m proud of that
Instagram.”

Nick’s surprise visit may end up paying off – Emilia
said she’d be happy to pass on a good word to “Game of Thrones”
creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss about getting him a part on the HBO hit.
“I’m
going to e-mail them now. I will,” she
declared,
joking, “‘Listen: He’s open to dyeing his hair Targaryen blond.’ Right?”
Apparently,
Nick is willing to do what it takes to make it to Westeros.
“Absolutely,”
he replied. “Let me know.”
“There
you go!” Emilia laughed. “You can ride a dragon, honey!”
