Nicolas Cage & Jay Baruchel On ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ NYC Shoot ‘Insanity’

In “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel bring some magic to the Big Apple – but according to the stars, the city was tough to tame during filming.

“That was intense!” Nicolas told Access Hollywood at the film’s New York City premiere on Tuesday, of a scene shot in Times Square. “On top of which, we had a 1934 Rolls Royce we were driving around. It created kind of an event, in that car.”

“It was insanity,” Jay added to Access. “When we’re doing chase scenes through midtown at 2 AM on Friday, every Tom, Dick and Harry [is] out drunk and I’m sitting alongside the most famous human in the world, it attracts a lot of attention, so it got real interesting.”

And the people of New York had a few late-night words for the star pair.

“The most common thing screamed at us was ‘National Treasure 3?’” Jay said. “If you can act in that, you can act anywhere.”

However, Nicolas said the crowds added an extra jolt to their on-screen action.

“The energy in New York City, they only give you a buzz that makes you want to do your best,” he said.
