Nicole Kidman endured a very public divorce from Tom Cruise (after an 11-year marriage) back in 2001.
Now past the pain and happily married to Keith Urban, who she wed in 2006, the actress said she and the country music superstar are happier than ever and going strong.
“Keith always says, ‘We’re lucky we met late in life,'” the 47-year-old beauty told Net-A-Porter’s The Edit magazine in a new interview. “‘The sadness of that is we can’t have six kids together, but the greatness of that is [we are done] with all the other stuff, so now we are totally present for this.’
“That’s a great thing to hear from a man,” she added.
Sometimes the couple’s still-strong love for each other creates jealousy among Nicole’s girlfriends.
At Keith’s concert earlier this year in Australia (which happened to fall on the couple’s anniversary), the singer dedicated a song to his wife, saying, “Eight years, baby girl. This song is for you. I love you so much.”
“I had two girlfriends sitting with me and they were like, ‘B*tch!'” Nicole laughed. “I went, ‘Hey! I’ve been to hell and back!'”
For Nicole, who has two daughters with Keith and two adopted children with ex-husband Tom, fantasy has happily become reality in recent years.
“I used to have a great fantasy life, and now I have a really, really great real life, which I’m so grateful for,” she told the mag.
