Nicole Richie Expands Fashion Line To Footwear

Nicole Richie is about to put her best footwear forward.

The former “Simple Life” star – and expecting mom – has made a deal with manufacturers Rick and Brian Cytrynbaum, who own Earnest Sewn jeans and Modern Vintage shoes, to design a lifestyle line that will reportedly include 20 footwear items in addition to apparel, bags, sunglasses, belts and accessories, Women’s Wear Daily reported.

Nicole has already tried her hand at design with her House of Harlow 1960 jewelry line, which is currently available at Kitson, and Rick Cytrynbaum told the site that the star is 100 percent involved with her new yet-to-be-named line.

“Nicole is designing everything herself. She’s totally devoted to this, and we’re creating a whole lifestyle around her aesthetic and what is true to her,” he said, calling Nicole “by far one of America’s biggest fashion icons right now.”

“We’re investing millions into this brand,” he added. “This is like nothing out there right now.”

The line is expected for spring 2010, but Nicole herself will be expecting much sooner — the star and boyfriend Joel Madden announced her pregnancy, her second following the birth of daughter Harlow in 2008, in February.
