Nicole Richie and Jessica Simpson have a lot in common these days – both are former reality stars with successful fashion lines and will serve as mentors on NBC’s upcoming reality style series, “Fashion Star.”
In addition to their professional similarities, Jessica will soon join her pal in the motherhood club – a role Nicole has attempted to help her prepare for.
“I offered [Jessica] to take my kids up until she has hers,” Nicole told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live, when asked if she’s offered any maternal advice or suggestions to the expectant style guru. “That didn’t really work.”
Though Jessica, 31, didn’t take Nicole up on her offer to practice parenting with her two kids (with husband Joel Madden), the 30-year-old said she could still change her mind.
“The offer still stands because she hasn’t had her kids yet,” Nicole said. “So, if she wants to take them, go ahead. No problem!”
To unwind from her long days of mothering, designing for her fashion line, acting as a paid spokesperson for Suave and judging blossoming fashionistas on “Fashion Star,” Nicole revealed she likes to relax by watching the drama unfold on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
“Is that your guilty pleasure?” Kit asked.
“Well, I don’t feel guilty about it at all,” Nicole answered, laughing. “So, I don’t know if it’s my ‘guilty’ pleasure, because I just love it… I’m a big Lisa Vanderpump fan.”
Beyond her love of all things “Real Housewives” (including Andy Cohen’s “little pink bowties”), Nicole is excited about her latest collaboration with Suave’s Keratin Collective and its Facebook launch, which will allow women to share their experiences to benefit her and Joel’s charity.
“It really gives women a chance to share their stories. And with every transformation story, one dollar goes to the Richie Madden Foundation, up to $10,000,” she said.
